Description

Nsibidi iconography, from the Efik and Ejagham peoples of Nigeria's Cross River, presents an ancestral system of signs. Its complex calligraphy, linked to the Ekpe secret society, encodes knowledge and narratives dating back to at least the 19th century. This collection contemplates the richness of an enduring visual language.
