Lecho De Muerte

Description

The deathbed, a central motif in Ibero-American iconography, reveals rites and beliefs surrounding the final passage. From the 16th to the 19th century, these scenes depict familial piety and spiritual assistance, portraying contained grief or serene acceptance in the face of imminent departure.
