The Pilgrimage Strip is a pictorial manuscript narrating the migration of the Mexica from their mythical homeland of Aztlán to their arrival in the Valley of Mexico. On this page, a scene is depicted with an eagle devouring a serpent, a symbol that would become the emblem of Tenochtitlán.
