The Codex of Michoacán, also known as the Relación de Michoacán, is an illustrated manuscript from the 16th century that documents the history, customs, and social organization of the Purépecha Empire. The illustrations, in a European style but with indigenous themes, use a watercolor technique on European paper, reflecting the cultural fusion after the Spanish conquest.
