The Códice Borgia is the richest and most complex pre-Hispanic Mexican ritual manuscript. Created in the 15th century in the Puebla-Tlaxcala region, it contains 76 deerskin pages covered with images of the 260-day ritual calendar (tonalpohualli) and scenes of underworld gods.
